Plastic Odor from Village Parkway Construction
Residents and businesses in central Dublin may notice a plastic smell in the air on Tuesday (August 8) and Thursday (August 10) afternoons. The odor comes from the styrene resin in the pipe liner that DSRSD is installing in the sewer main under Village Parkway.
The odor can be detected at low concentrations but is not hazardous. Studies done to date concluded that this type of resin does not appear to be a significant source of styrene or any other volatile organic compounds that are typically of concern in occupational or air quality studies.
Since any wind will spread the odor, we advise keeping windows closed. The work will last four to five hours each afternoon. For more information about the project, visit www.dsrsd.com/trunksewer
