Wastewater Fees For San Ramon (Southern Area)

DSRSD provides wastewater collection and treatment services for the southern portion of San Ramon. New connections represent an increase in demand for these services. Capacity charges are assessed to new customers before approval is granted for construction of new facilities or before allowing connection to the DSRSD wastewater collection system (sewer). Regional fees (for wastewater treatment) are based on the estimated volume and strength of wastewater discharge. Local fees (for wastewater collection) are based on the volume of wastewater discharge.

Regional Wastewater Fee Installment Program

DSRSD is assisting the cities in its service area with their efforts to attract new restaurants, businesses, and affordable housing. Normally these new customers must pay a regional wastewater capacity charge in advance. DSRSD offers an installment program that spreads payment of this fee over a period of up to 10 years.

To qualify for the program, you must be a new affordable residential, commercial, industrial, or institutional customer of DSRSD. Also, the regional portion of your wastewater capacity charges must be between $25,000 - $100,000.

Businesses that participate in the deferred payment program will be required to:
  • Install an individual water meter on the portion of property that is covered under this program, so that interior water consumption may be measured.
  • Provide a 20% down payment of the regional fees, pay an up-front administrative fee of $3,520, and pay 100% of the local fees.
  • Agree to pay the remaining balance in equal monthly installments plus 5% per annum interest for a term not exceeding 10 years.
  • Enter into a standard agreement with the District that will be recorded against the property record of the parcel where the business is to be located. The standard agreement must be signed by the fee title property owner.
